DR NOELLE CHUKS-EBOKA
HI, I'M DR NOELLE
I am a researcher, policy analyst, nonprofit leader, and a proud mum of two amazing kids. I’m deeply passionate about child wellbeing, resilience, and creating a world where children are protected, heard, and nurtured in every setting. With over 14 years of professional experience, I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse sectors—academia, government policy, and nonprofits—and in multiple regions including West Africa, the United Kingdom, and now, Canada.
I hold a PhD in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, an MA in International Development (with Distinction) from the University of Westminster, and a BSc in Economics from Bingham University, where I was the best graduating student in the department. My research interests lie in child wellbeing and rights, violence prevention and the lived experiences of vulnerable groups. I apply both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in my work, with expertise in participatory approaches, ethnographic research, and large-scale data analysis.
Throughout my career, I’ve led cross-regional research projects, supported public policy development, and collaborated with governments and international partners. I’ve worked in organizations like McGill University, Government of Alberta Canada and Policy Wise for Children and Families. I also founded a nonprofit in West-Africa that tackled school-based violence through advocacy, education, and skills-building programs for children in street situations.
In 2021, I was honoured to be named one of the Top African Women in Development by Donors for Africa. My work has also been featured by Royal Roads University Canada and the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children.
But beyond the credentials and career highlights, I am a fun, pastry-obsessed mum who believes in showing up with kindness, excellence, and humility. I understand what it means to juggle ambition with motherhood, to navigate postpartum while chasing purpose, and to build a life that values both family and impact.
My mission with this platform is three-fold:
First, to present my academic research work and consultancy projects, academic publications, upcoming books and speaking/conference engagements.
Second, to guide the next generation of academics by sharing my personal journey to earning a doctorate before 30 and by providing free resources and consultancy services. I want to ensure that prospective and current postgraduate and doctoral students achieve excellence and make informed decisions, so their degrees are meaningful and useful—and do not end up on a shelf somewhere.
Third, as a working mum of two beautiful kids, I understand the dilemmas and struggles of navigating post-partum while thinking about career advancement. This has led me to support career-driven mums in their journey to balance motherhood with personal fulfilment—prioritizing mental health, career goals, and family values along the way.
